These terms describe the rules for using Desi Connect to find work, publish vacancies, connect through private chat and advertise community events. Please read them before using these services.
1. Using Desi Connect
You must be legally able to agree to these terms. If applicable law requires a parent or guardian’s permission, obtain it before using the service. Provide accurate information, use your own account and keep access to it secure. Do not impersonate another person, employer or organizer.
2. Our role
Desi Connect connects members and displays job and event listings. Posting a listing does not mean that Desi Connect endorses or independently verifies it. Employers make hiring decisions; organizers run their events. We do not guarantee employment, wages, event admission, attendance or the accuracy or continued availability of a listing.
3. Job applications and employer ads
Employers must be authorized to advertise the vacancy and share the business details they publish. Ads must accurately describe the role, workplace, pay, schedule and requirements and comply with applicable employment and job-posting laws, including pay-disclosure rules where required. Update or close vacancies when they are no longer available.
Applicants must provide truthful qualifications and information. When you apply to a vacancy posted on Desi Connect, your profile, contact details, application message and uploaded resume are shared with that employer. Applications submitted on an external employer website are governed by that website’s terms.
4. An inclusive community
Desi Connect welcomes everyone. Community-focused listings must not unlawfully exclude applicants based on race, national origin, religion, sex, disability, age or another protected characteristic. Do not post discriminatory hiring restrictions, hateful content, harassment or threats.
5. Community events
Only post events you are authorized to advertise. Give accurate dates, local start times, venue details, admission information and any conditions guests need to know. Organizers are responsible for their event, venue permissions, applicable permits, safety arrangements and any tickets or refunds they offer. Update or cancel your ad if plans change.
Desi Connect currently displays event ads and supports organizer chat; it does not sell tickets or process event payments. Confirm arrangements directly with the organizer before attending or paying elsewhere.
6. Messages and conduct
Use chat respectfully for genuine job and community enquiries. Do not send spam, scams, fraudulent offers, unlawful content or unwanted repeated messages. Do not request passwords, payment-card details or sensitive identity documents through chat. Private messages are available to conversation participants and are stored to operate the service.
7. Your content
You retain rights to the content you submit. By posting it, you give Desi Connect permission to store and display it as needed to provide the service. Only submit text and materials you have the right to use. Do not publish another person’s private contact information without authorization. Public ads and directory profiles can be viewed by visitors who have access to the site.
8. Location and privacy
Nearby job search uses your current location only after your browser permits it. Your current coordinates stay in the browser for this visit; they are not saved to your profile or tracked in the background. You can stop using location and search by city instead. Distances based on city centers are approximate and some vacancies have no known coordinates.
Workplace coordinates included in an employer’s ad are public. Your email, personal phone and resume are not shown in the job-seeker directory; they are shared with employers you apply to. You can hide your directory profile and delete your resume in My Profile. Read the privacy information below for the data stored to operate Desi Connect.
9. External websites and payments
External links may take you to employers or other services that have their own terms and privacy practices. Check who you are dealing with before sharing information or paying. Desi Connect currently has no checkout and does not collect application or event-ticket payments on this site.
10. Reports and service restrictions
Use “Report listing” on a vacancy to flag inaccurate, suspicious or inappropriate content. Reports are saved for review; review is not immediate. Content or access may be restricted for misuse or legal reasons. Do not attempt to bypass access controls or interfere with the service.
11. Availability and your legal rights
The service may be interrupted or changed. Check important hiring and event details with the relevant employer or organizer. These terms do not exclude liability or waive rights that cannot legally be excluded or waived under applicable law.
12. Changes to these terms
Updates will be published here with a revised date. Review the current terms before posting ads, applying or sharing information.
